EPOCH
See, if I was any kind of diaryist, I'd have told you that I'm heading down to London tomorrow, and I'm to be there until Friday.
The day before I got that bad cold which I thought was flu I was in Birmingham with 4 friends from WIN (Worcester Innovators' Network) - Matt, Judith, Paul and Daniel. We were pit against Birmingham and York universities and were set the challenge of negotiating prices on items; basically, we were given a list of stuff to get and had to get the stuff for the cheapest price. We kicked arse, winning tremendously, and thus we're through to the grand finals.
There are 8 unis taking part at this year's final, including last year's winners, Stockholm, as well as New York, Royal Holloway, Kingston, Birmingham and York (yes, don't ask, the way they made the final is very, very dubious). And Worcester- the first time the uni's been entered. And I'm part of it. It was quite funny actually, on Wednesday I was photographed with the rest of the team for local press with the Vice Chancellor - the very man who sent a letter I received today telling me if I don't talk to an advisor they're kicking me out. I suppose if I hadn't have introduced myself to him as Cos he'd have been less chuffed about me representing the uni.
Apparently this EPOCH thing is a big deal. It's running from Monday to Thursday, with daily challenges based on marketing, sales, strategy and social enterprise. It's essentially an Apprentice rehash for unis. International and stuff, it's going in national press. Oh, and there's also a £5000 prize for the winning team. Check it out by clicking this hyperlink.
So I thought I'd write to say that I may not have time for blogging. Not this blogging anyway - go to win.uk.com for my official WIN blogthing.
TraGic's going to be updated, I've been working like a bitch this week to do all of next week's strips.
So yeah. Wish me luck, folks. And expect photos. By god there'll be photos.
