Shit.

Yesterday was a weird day. Bizarrely so. Let me roll it from the top.

So I get to work. Normal day, though I knew I had a disciplinary hearing. I get to work, set up the security cameras and change from my suit to my uniform. I go out for Manager Lauren to tell me to come in to her office; my hearing is to take place right away.

It takes approximately 50 seconds for her to tell me she has no choice but to not offer me a permanent contract and for me to tell her I accepted her decision and that I am to leave immediately. She agreed to pay me until the end of the week, I changed from my uniform into my suit and left.

I pottered around town until the job centre opened at 10, then went to discuss Job Seekers' Allowance. I was given a form to fill in, along with a phone number to call. I get home from work and call the number, giving various details about myself and my situation to a simple man called Marc. What a coincidence. The phone call took around an hour and a half.

Which is how long it took me to get the bus to and from Optimum Contact Solutions, the place I was to have a job interview later that afternoon. Got there, came back, 45 minutes each way. Waited half an hour and went back to Optimium for my proper interview, now I knew how long it took to get there.

The interview lasted three hours, during which I had 3 aptitude tests, a roleplay exercise, an interview, a presentation about the company and 15 minutes of listening to calls. The job I was applying for was a inbound call centre operative, and it took 3 hours of fucking military testing to try me properly.

I got the job. I was offered it there and then. I will be starting on the 5th of May, and earning two grand a year less than I was on at Skipton. I am making less than I was on at the Co-Op, and that was 3 years ago, and not taking inflation into consideration. I'd be making more on Job Seekers' Allowance, and so I'm still going to be applying for that in the meeting I have scheduled on Monday.

I am feeling very low currently. I have yet to schedule a doctor's appointment. Such an appointment shall be made on the morrow.
